OUR ORIGIN: THE ALTERNATIVE CONCEPT
Every empire has an original source. Ours is our grandmother, Puna.
Growing up in the town of Punaluʻu on the island of Oʻahu, Puna’s hand-cut crack seed mix was a mandatory asset for every family road trip and island vacation. The distinct sweet-and-salty profile of her crack seeds always left us wanting more. Over the years, this homemade stash became a favorite at backyard gatherings and professional events across Hawaiʻi, eventually becoming closely associated with ʻEkolu Mea Nui and its work advancing justice reform.
In our culture, showing up empty-handed is a liability. What started as a family remedy for holoholo transit routes quickly became the ultimate makana (gift). Today, Puna’s blend is the driving force behind our entire operation.
Our "Crack House" concept radically challenges the stigma normally attached to the name. This Crack House is an elite, safe space designed to disrupt old narratives and uplift our community. Every bag we sell directly fuels our mission of real justice reform here in the islands.
